A&D HOLON Holdings Co., Ltd. (the “Company”) announces that its consolidated subsidiary, A&D Company, Limited (“A&D”), has acquired the business of Thompson Scale Company (“Thompson Scale”) through its U.S. subsidiary as of October 1, 2025.
Purpose of the Acquisition
This acquisition is part of the initiatives aligned with the strategy for Measuring and Weighing Equipment Business outlined in our Medium-term Business Plan (FY2025 to FY2027) announced in May 2025. It aims to strengthen profitability through targeted entry into strategic markets. In particular, this is positioned as a strategic investment to enhance sales in North America—a priority region—and to reinforce global engineering capabilities, thereby contributing to the expansion of our global market share.
Overview of the Acquired Company
Thompson Scale, founded in 1972, is a long-established manufacturer of industrial weighing and filling packaging equipment headquartered in Houston, Texas. Its products are renowned for durability and reliability, with many machines operating stably for over 10 years. Notably, its lineup includes high-precision checkweighers and high-speed multi-lane models equipped, which significantly contribute to strengthening customers’ quality control systems and improving production efficiency.
Future Outlook
Through this acquisition, we will leverage Thompson Scale’s advanced technological capabilities and strong customer base in the North American market to further enhance our competitiveness. By combining Thompson Scale’s long-cultivated weighing technology, durable product design, and broad industry adaptability with A&D’s high-precision weighing and control technologies, we will accelerate the development of new products with enhanced inspection functions.
This will enable us to meet increasingly sophisticated quality control needs in diverse fields such as food, pharmaceuticals, and chemicals, while expanding our product lineup in the global market and further enhancing the value we deliver to customers.
